Karen Crawford, professor of biology, recently presented research findings. In early July, Crawford presented, “Beyond Proof of Concept: CRISPR-Cas9 genome editing and questions for Doryteuthis (Loligo) pealeii” to the Marine Biological Community at Woods Hole, Massachusetts, where she is also co-teaching a course on embryology. In addition, Crawford presented “New Techniques, Discoveries, & Ideas: Genetic Knockout of Pigmentation in the Squid Doryteuthis pealeii” as an invited speaker at the annual meeting of the Society for Developmental Biology.
