Director of Public Safety Tressa Setlak Graduates from Northwestern University Center of Public Safety Police Staff and Command Program

St. Mary’s College of Maryland Director of Public Safety Tressa Setlak graduated from the Northwestern University Center of Public Safety Police Staff and Command (SPSC) program held for 22 weeks in Evanston, Illinois, from October 12, 2020 – March 28, 2021.

SPSC focused on 27 core blocks of instruction: Police Training, Management Training, Leadership, Human Resources, Employee Relations, Organizational Behavior, Applied Statistics, Planning and Policy Development, Budgeting and Resource Allocation.

Setlak stated, “It [the program] provided me with enhanced administrative and leadership skills that I will utilize to continue moving the SMCM Office of Public Safety forward. Law enforcement is challenging and with the information and resources gained through this class I feel better prepared to lead our department in a positive direction.”
