Associate Professors of Computer Science Alan Jamieson and Lindsay Jamieson presented "Computational Thinking at SMCM" at the Maryland CS Summit held virtually on May 22. The presentation focused on the piloting of a new course on computational thinking in K-8 classrooms designed for computer science and educational studies students, and how computational thinking and computer science can be integrated in multiple subjects. The course included volunteer work with the Chesapeake Public Charter School in St. Mary's County. The work represents the first steps in developing a computer science education pathway at St. Mary's College of Maryland.

The work was sponsored by a grant from the Maryland Center of Computing Education.
