Kent Randell, college archivist of information science, has published the first of four articles in a series about Maryland’s storied Susquehanna estate in the Maryland Genealogical Society Journal.

The first article titled “The Rousby Era of the Susquehanna Estate, Formerly of St. Mary’s County, Maryland (1669-1744)” focuses on the murder and attempts to claim the murdered Christopher Rousby’s fortune.  The second article in the series details the will which addresses coverture (rights of wives) and legal rights of mistresses and “outside” children.

The journal (Volume 60, Number 2, 2019) with Randell’s first article can be purchased here: https://mdgensoc.org/cpage.php?pt=14
