Professor of Economics and Landers Endowed Chair in the Liberal Arts Asif Dowla’s article “Climate Change and Microfinance” published in Business Strategy and Development, was one of the journal’s top 20 most downloaded recent papers among articles published between July 2016 and June 2018. In fact, Dowla’s article received some of the highest downloads in the 12-months post publication.
In “Climate Change and Microfinance,” Dowla examines the populations that will be most affected by global warming and how many of those individuals are linked to microfinance institutions’ ability to adapt to the consequences of climate change. In addition to being a threat, Dowla examines how climate change also opens up opportunities for microfinance institutions and their clients.
