Jessica Malisch to Give an Invited Seminar at Towson University

Jessica Malisch, assistant professor of biology, has been invited to give a research seminar at Towson University on November 13. The seminar will focus on research conducted in Malisch's research laboratory at St. Mary's College.

The title of the seminar is "Predictors of stress-induced hyperglycemia in free-living passerines." The seminar will include research that has been conducted in her lab in conjunction with several current SMCM undergraduate researchers: Melanie Kimball '19, Livia Schuller '19, Ava Chrisler '20 and Rene Suzich '20, as well as former students Brad Davidson '17 and Elizabeth Wenker '17. 

A primary focus of the talk is research recently published in the journal Physiological and Biochemical Zoology, "Stress-Induced Hyperglycemia in White-Throated and White-Crowned Sparrows: A New Technique for Rapid Glucose Measurement in the Field."
