Assistant Professor of Economics Amanda Deerfield has published research examining the effects of cooperative learning on exam grades earned in Principles of Macroeconomics. Her findings suggest that economics students who participated in cooperative learning activities earned higher grades on their final exams than students who did not participate in such activities. This pedagogical research informs Professor Deerfield's approach in the classroom, where students enjoy her popular Econ-Buddy program.
