Biography

After graduating from St. Mary's in 2005, majoring in Biology and Economics, I immediately jumped into the world of fisheries and natural resources. As I built my career, I found myself wanting to learn more about where fish are and the habitats they require to complete their lifecycle. Throughout my Master's and Ph.D. research I focused on creating a better understanding of where and when sturgeon occurred and how that related to human activities. My current research focus revolves around using the latest techniques and technologies to better understand, forecast, and communicate the environmental drivers of imperiled fishes occurrence in time and space. My goal is to provide users of our coastal waters the information they need to reduce impacts on our aquatic resources. To accomplish these goals I utilize acoustic telemetry, satellite remote sensing, underwater robotics and species distribution models.
