Institutional Research Analyst II
Biography
Laura completed her B.A. in sociology with a concentration in social psychology from UMD College Park, her M.S. in applied gerontology from Towson, and her doctorate in gerontology with a concentration in social and behavioral science from UMBC. Before assuming her role as an Institutional Research Analyst at St. Mary's College in 2022, Laura held the position of Adjunct Assistant Professor of the Social Sciences at UMGC and Adjunct Assistant Professor of Gerontology at Howard Community College. Laura currently serves as a member of the Institutional Review Board at the College.
Outside of her love of the social sciences and gerontology, Laura has a passion for emergency/disaster response and prevention. Her dissertation, "Emergency Medical Services Providers' Perceptions of Nursing Homes, Assisted Living Facilities, and Older Adult Patients" was a qualitative project inspired by her time serving as an EMT-B in the Prince George's County Fire Department.
