Biography

Jennifer Linhart Wood teaches at St. Mary’s College of Maryland and works on the editorial team for Shakespeare Quarterly at the Folger Shakespeare Library. Her first monograph, Sounding Otherness in Early Modern Drama and Travel: Uncanny Vibrations in the English Archive, is forthcoming in spring 2019 from Palgrave Macmillan as part of their "New Transculturalisms" series. This book explores the importance of sound to early modern cross-cultural encounters occurring in foreign lands and staged in the Renaissance theater. Her work has appeared in several collections, including Gender and Song in Early Modern England, as well as the Journal for Early Modern Cultural Studies, and Shakespeare Studies.
