Jennifer Rende

Biography

Violist Jennifer Rende has a distinguished career in chamber and orchestral music in the United States and Europe. She is principal violist for the Baltimore Opera Company and the Concert Artists of Baltimore and regularly performs as a soloist and chamber musician. Ms. Rende has been a guest artist with the Washington Chamber Society, the Melos Sinfonia, the National Gallery Orchestra, the Smithsonian Chamber Society, the Sinfonia of Saint Cecilia, and served a special appointment with the Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra. She performs regularly with the Wolf Trap Summer Opera Company and makes special appearances at various embassy performances in Washington, D.C.. She has performed chamber music with Yo Yo Ma's Silk Road project and accompanied Leon Fleisher for the Concert Artist's 15th anniversary celebration. Ms. Rende teaches master classes and performs as a soloist with the St. Mary's College European tour and international music festival in Turin, Italy. Her experience also includes nationally televised Presidential Inauguration Galas, concerts with Luciano Pavarotti, and various musical shows. Her recordings include the world premiere of Dominick Argento's A Water Bird Talk and Ms. Havisham's Wedding Night (Koch International), Music for Organ and Strings (Naxos), The Italian Voyage with the Maryland Bach Aria Group (Crystal Label), and Concert Artists of Baltimore contemporary American composers (Sonora). A graduate of the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University, Ms. Rende teaches master classes at the University of Maryland and sits on the faculty of St. Mary's College.
