Biography
Osborn began research on entrepreneurs in Poland in 1990 at the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology, Polish Academy of Sciences (IFiS). Her research interests center on comparative social change in East Central Europe and the development of an entrepreneurial class. Her current work focuses on Poland's integration into the European Union.

This is the first comprehensive sociological study on the emergence and formation of an entrepreneurial class in Poland through the course of the initial and advanced phases of the post-communist transformation. Osborn and Slomczynski focus on entrepreneurial class recruitment patterns during the transition from a command economy to a market economy using both qualitative an quantitative methods.
