Associate Director of Teacher Education

Biography
Dr. Crystal Dunkin is an instructional leader with experience as a high school administrator, World Language teacher, curriculum writer and professional learning specialist. She specializes in professional development of teachers, engaging classroom instruction, and educational technology. She received the Best of Maryland and Best of NECTFL for her co-presentation titled “Risky Business: Encouraging Risk Taking in the World Language Classroom.” She completed her doctorate in Instructional Leadership for Changing Populations studying the influence of teacher characteristics on peer observations.
Job Description
As the Associate Director of Teacher Education, Dr. Dunkin works with graduates students pursing their teaching licensing. This includes overseeing their yearlong internship, coordinating with the State of Maryland to ensure proper licensing and partnering with local education partners to ensure high quality teacher preparation for future teachers.
