Biography

Beverly Louise Fenwick has served over 38 years' experience in the Federal Government, 18 of which have been at the Department of Education; Office of Management. In her present job, she created and managed the iComplaint database to track EEO complaints and assisted customers with the forms required for filing EEO complaints. Monitored and tracked budget for EEO complaints and acquisition supply orders. She also developed reports on the No Fear Act requirements, as well as studies, presentations, informational graphics, briefings and position papers based on analysis of data and the use of Data Marts to support ED’s EEO program. She initiated in building partnerships and coordinated programs, as Team Lead with the Director of EEO, Hispanic Special Emphasis Program Manager, HR personnel, and Director of Federally Employed Women (FEW) and attended the interagency council meetings of Federally Employed Women. She participated in and supported community relations’ activities, meetings, national conferences, and job fairs that emphasized the employment of women. She served as point person in IT Funding Submissions; COR meetings; COR Certifications, Project Manager, Organizational Assessment measurements, contract award deadlines, and discussion topics for OM’s CAM representatives. Prior to working at ED Ms. Fenwick also worked for the Air Force Public Affair National Affairs Office where she had the opportunity to review National Affairs Office program materials for consistency with established policies and procedures, regulations, and legislation. Analyzed and revised program requirements, policies and procedures for the National Affairs Office. Manage the Air Force Flyover over Program to procure the use of airplanes which scheduling for high profile activities such as the Rose Bowl Parade. She managed the tracking system for all incoming and outgoing documents. Handled classified and secret documents and maintained them in a safe and secure area. Maintained and tracked the Air Force database for Air Force “flyovers.” Prepared retirement letters for the President’s signature and arranged for flags and “flyovers” for Air Force retirees of more than 21 years of service. Ms. Fenwick chaired the Federal Women’s program for the Air Force’s National Capital Region. Coordinated the Administrative Employee of the Year program; determined awards to be given, produced and distributed packages of materials to offices for selecting nominees, coordinated the logistics of the program and hosted the ceremony which later became a highly successful annual event. She represented the Federal Women’s program committee at meetings of the Women’s Heritage Committee and provided input and ideas for planning special events on the base. Ms. Fenwick summer interns for the Special Emphasis program committee; interviewed high school students at their schools for participation in the program and marketed the job opportunities at church meetings. She counseled the summer interns about appropriate work behaviors for military installation to ensure that the highest quality work standards were maintained. She was selected to participate on a Tiger Team, a subset of the EEO committee, for the purpose of providing feedback to the Air Force General in charge of Public Affairs. She is actively involved in her church and a member of the St. Peter’s Gospel Choir; Vice-President, Knights of St. Jerome’s; Unified Committee for Afro-American Contribution (UCAC), and the United States Colored Troops Committee (U.S. Colored Troops). Ms. Fenwick resides in St. Mary’s County, Maryland. She continually strives to further her education and job knowledge through training classes and on the job training. She recently retired from the Federal Government on May 31, 2023. She has three children Julian, Anthony and Jasmine Bryant and one son-in-law Demetrius Bryant, one daughter-in-law Latoya Collins and fifteen grandkids which she loves dearly.

Job Description

Performs complex duties such as, recordkeeping, and administrative detail, and follow-up functions to assist the Director/Department Head and department staff in implementing departmental programs.  May act as secretary to an academic division.  Must be well organized and possess good secretarial skills. Receives minimal supervision and independently exercises considerable discretion and judgement in all work areas.  May handle confidential and sensitive issues.  May supervise other clerical employees and student employees.
