Biography

I earned my PhD in Economics from Florida International University this summer. My dissertation chair is Dr. Abu S. Shonchoy. My research focuses on the economics of education and conflict, with current work analyzing the impact of Colombia's illicit crop eradication policy on human capital accumulation. I hold a MA and BA degrees in Economics from Universidad Externado de Colombia, where I received two scholarships. I have presented my research at multiple conferences, including the 2024 World Bank Land Conference. With eight years of teaching experience, I believe in balancing guidance with encouraging independent problem-solving among students. My primary goal in research and teaching is to address issues affecting vulnerable populations. Outside of academia, I enjoy physical activities such as soccer, Zumba, and cycling.
