Biography

Amy Henderson is an Associate Professor of Economics at St. Mary’s College of Maryland. She regularly teaches Environmental Economics and Natural Resource Economics, courses which serve both the Economics major and the Environmental Studies minor. Her research interests lie in Environmental and Natural Resource valuation and in the area of pedagogy. Students interested in conducting research applying valuation methodologies, or investigating different approaches for effectively teaching economics, are welcome to contact Professor Henderson. Professor Henderson also serves as an economic analyst on the New Jersey Supreme Court Committee on Minority Concerns. She has authored sections of the 2008-2009 Report of the New Jersey Supreme Court Committee on Minority Concerns and is currently working on the committee’s most recent report. She previously served on the Hudson Vicinage Minority Concerns Committee, where she designed, implemented and analyzed a workforce environment survey. Professor Henderson frequently has the opportunity to involve students with strong data-handling and statistical skills in this work. Interested students should contact Professor Henderson. Prior to joining the faculty at St. Mary’s College of Maryland, Professor Henderson was a Vice President at Integral Research, Inc., in New York City. She earned her Ph.D. from George Washington University and her B.A. in Economics and Political Science from St. Mary’s College of Maryland.
