Biography

Amir Mohammadi has served as the interim vice president for business and chief financial officer since February 28, 2024. Mohammadi has most recently served as the senior vice president for administration, global engagement, economic development and chief innovation officer for Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania. In his 40-year career, Mohammadi has held executive-level positions in finance, administration, advancement and student affairs at Delaware State University, West Virginia University and Adelphi University. He has also served on a number of boards, most notably with the Sustainability Advisory Panel of the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO), of which he served as the elected chair for four years. Mohammadi has also served as a senior advisor to the chancellor of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education, acting as a strategic advisor to several system presidents and conducting a comprehensive review of academic programs to develop a new strategic direction. His achievements have included the development of a $2 million cooperative agreement with a Chinese university, creation of a university economic development office that generated 150 paid student internships and identifying millions of dollars in operational savings for the universities he served.
