Biography
Amelie Wang was born in Hebei, China, in 1997 and has been living in the United States since 2014. She received a BA in Art and Gender Women Sexuality Study from the University of Washington in Seattle in 2021, and was the recipient of the Parnassus Graduating with Excellence Award in the Fine Art Department. In 2022, Wang was selected to participate in the Fiskars AiR Residency at Fiskars Village, Finland. In 2024, she received her Master’s degree from the LeRoy E. Hoffberger School of Painting at Maryland Institute College of Art, where she also received the Hoffberger Foundation Fellowship and Graduate Merit Scholarship. Her paintings have been exhibited at the Chilli Art Project in London, the C. Grimaldis Gallery and the Arting Gallery in Baltimore Maryland, the Southampton History Museum in Southampton New York, the Strathmore Mansion in North Bethesda Maryland, the Jacob Lawrence Gallery in Seattle Washington, and the Gateway Art Center In Brentwood Maryland.
