Congratulations to Joanne Goldwater, April winner for the Seahawk Spirit Award!

Joanne is the Associate Dean for Retention and Student Success and was nominated under the Community Service and St. Mary's Way Award category.

This is what the nominator shared about Joanne:

"Community Service and St. Mary's Way.  If you have crossed her path even once you already know that she oozes her love for St Mary's and this community. She is a huge part of Relay for Life and shares her experiences with anyone needing support. She has also spoke at the Wellness Lunch and Learns, telling her story so others can learn from her journey. She is always bright and cheerful and willing to lend an ear (or rocking chair in her office) to any staff or student that may need the break. She is always positive and really listens, and will follow up when you run into her later in the halls of Glendenning. I can not think of anyone else on campus that has had such a connection across campus, with students, staff and faculty. She is very deserving in just the advocation she does with and for the students, but her infectious positivity touches all of us on campus."

As the monthly winner, Joanne will receive 5 meal tickets to the Great Room and a certificate of appreciation.

If you see Joanne around on campus please congratulate her and thank Joanne for everything she does to make our SMCM community a wonderful place to be!
