A group of people outdoors throw colorful powder into the air, wearing white shirts and smiling in front of a brick building.

The Asian & Pacific-Islander American Club (APAC) and the SMCM Asian Studies Program present the SMCM Celebration of Holi 2026!  Also known as the Festival of Colors, Holi is a celebration of spring in India / South Asia that involves food, dancing, and the playful use of colored powder to show love and appreciation. Our students will introduce the campus community to the history and customs of Holi as we indeed celebrate with music, samosas, tea, dancing and a color throw! We will also be learning from our colleagues about Naw Ruz, a celebration of spring that originated in Persia (Iran).

Location: The Campus Center Patio

Time & Date: 4:30 - 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 2.

Special thanks to the Division of Inclusion, Diversity, Access and Accountability (IDEAA), the Office of Multicultural Programming and the Student Government Association for their generous support.

PRO TIP: If you plan to participate in the powdered color throw, you should wear old clothing and bring a change of clothes, even though the color is washable.
