Dr. Raymond Cheng of Old Dominion University will be visiting and providing a seminar that bridges mathematics and animal behavior. Abstract:  After covering some historical background, we will review Buffon’s Needle problem, along with some variations, including Buffon’s Noodle.  We will then examine a connection to the behavior of ants.
