In 2024–2026, the City of Annapolis will commemorate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Annapolis 250 is a community-wide effort to honor its history, celebrate its diversity, and inspire civic engagement through events, programs, and partnerships.
The City is seeking an Annapolis 250 Assistant — an energetic, organized, and motivated intern to help make this historic commemoration come alive!
💼 Position Details
- Title: Annapolis 250 Assistant
- Type: Remote, contract position
- Pay: $15.00/hour
- Hours: 10–15 hours per week
✨ Responsibilities Include:
- Lead the 250 Voices Project – collecting community reflections on “What does pursuit of happiness mean to me?”
- Set up and oversee community interviews, and help create a collective video, book, or other multimedia project.
- Assist in digitizing the Annapolis 250 Passport, creating an interactive, geocached experience highlighting historic and cultural landmarks.
- Support communications efforts — social media posts, newsletters, and outreach materials.
- Coordinate with partners, volunteers, and city departments on events, including Independence Day celebrations.
- Provide on-site support at Annapolis 250 events (as available).

- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Interest in history, public service, event planning, or community engagement
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and social media platforms
- Flexibility for occasional evening or weekend events
