Please join the psychology department in enthusiastically welcoming Trish Davis, Ph.D. and Kyle Lorenzo, Ph.D. to St. Mary’s College of Maryland!

Lecturer of Psychology Patricia (Trish) Davis earned her Ph.D. (2025) in social psychology with a minor in neuropsychology at the University of Arizona where she also earned a master’s in psychology. During her graduate career at Arizona, Davis researched wisdom, intergenerational communication, and healthy aging. She also completed multiple teaching certificates related to storytelling, technology, and inclusiveness. Davis earned a master’s in gerontology and a bachelor’s in communications and public relations from the University of North Carolina Greensboro. She’ll be teaching topics courses this semester—Psychology of Wisdom (PSYC485) and Behavioral Gerontology: Psychosocial Perspectives on Aging (PSYC222)—as well as Introduction to Psychology (PSYC101). 

Assistant Professor of Psychology Kyle Lorenzo earned his Ph.D. (2025) and master’s in applied developmental psychology at Fordham University, where he researched well-being and identity development in minoritized youth. His work seeks to identify longitudinal correlations between social stressors and mental health. He is particularly interested in the roles of sociocultural factors, such as friendship quality, on the development of personal and social identities. Lorenzo is the recipient of several scholarly awards including a senior teaching fellowship in recognition of his instructional skills at Fordham. Before graduate school, Lorenzo earned his bachelor’s in psychology and biological sciences from North Carolina State University. This semester, Lorenzo will be teaching a topics course, Self and Society (PSYC264), along with Psychological Research, Analysis, and Writing I (PSYC204).
