LGBTQ Advocacy Award Nominations Due April 18

The St. Mary’s College of Maryland’s LGBTQ Student Services Advisory Committee will present the annual LGBTQ Advocacy Award at Lavender Celebration on Friday, April 25, 2025. This award recognizes individuals who have significantly advocated for or contributed towards a positive SMCM campus climate during the academic year 2024-2025 for people of all gender and sexual minorities in one or more of the following ways:

  • Enhanced campus life
  • Advocated or implemented campus policies that improved campus climate
  • Increased visibility and awareness.

Any student, faculty or staff member is eligible to be nominated.  If you would like to nominate someone for the award, please submit the following:

1.  The nominee’s name

2.  The nominee’s standing:
- If a student, the nominee’s major and graduation year (if known)
- If a faculty member, the nominee’s department
- If a staff member, the nominee’s department and job title

3.  A description of the nominee’s advocacy, actions or contributions that address the points listed above

4.  Your name and contact information (including e-mail and phone number)
