St. Mary's College of Maryland and St. Mary's County Relay for Life presents...
QUEST FOR A CURE
Saturday, March 1, 2025 | 4:00 - 8:00 p.m.
St. Mary's College of Maryland Michael P. O'Brien Athletics and Recreation Courts
Join us at our annual Relay event for foodtrucks, performances by SMCM clubs and local artists (Spring Ridge Middle School Rythym Club, Lookout, TNA, Naach Performing Arts Dance Academy, Gillian Brewer tapdance), Zumba, games and more family-friendly fun (including baby mini silky fainting goats - weather pending!) to help raise money for the American Cancer Society! Remember to bring cash and/or a credit card for foodtrucks and our fabulous on-site fundraisers including a local eats gift card raffle (do not need to be present to win); brown bag** raffle (e.g., Housing Priority for 25-26, free student parking decal for 25-26, $25 gift card to the campus store and free graduation package, 4 tickets to the upcoming Reagan Years concert, various home goods, basket from local children's author Cara (Trinidad) Miskolczi '07, free weekend stay at Swanendele Inn (Ridge, MD), Fun on the Farm Experience at Shiloh Manor, hair care basket from Studio Jelena, and more) - must have representative present at drawing (~7:00pm); and Pie-in-the-Face Raffle (Anthony Guzman, JCB, ACB, Scott Mirabile, Elsie Summers & ?)! Check out the full event program here!
Register here (it's FREE!) and invite your friends and family to join you! Join an already established team, create a new team, or register as an indivdual. When we walk together we are stronger than cancer! It is encouraged that participants do some fundraising among family & friends (raising money earns you Relay points towards items/swag; raising $100 - e.g., $10 from 10 people- gets you a t-shirt) but that's not a hard requirement. Even if you don't want to fundraise individually, that's OK! You can still register to participate (and we really hope you will)!
Survivors in our community are especially encouraged to attend this intergenerational event. Survivors who register by 2/21/25 will receive a free boxed dinner.
Whether or not you can attend in person, you can order luminaria to be lit at the event in memory, honor or support of someone you know ($5/bag -order at the registration link or order in person at the event; in-person-only-deal: 3 for $10). This link leads to a folder for this year's luminaria ceremony presentation. If anyone NEW needs to be added, they can be added directly to this folder. Pictures or just names can be added. If adding names, each person can submit just 1 Google document with a list of all the names and info instead of a separate document for each person. Things to include: honor/memory/support, name, type of cancer/s, year passed if applicable. In the folder there is a folder from previous years with names/pictures and the slideshow from last year. If a person is already in the slideshow from last year, they will be included again this year, just indicate with a note in the file name if any of the info/status needs to be changed. Be sure to update the info for luminaria in the folder by 2/21.
