Each year one of the St. Mary’s College of Maryland’s Campus Police or Public Safety Officers is given the distinct honor of being named Officer of the Year. Campus Police and Public Safety Officers are the College’s law enforcement entity, handling routine patrols, emergency medical responses and investigations. The officer of the year is recognized here on campus and also among a dozen other law enforcement officers in St. Mary’s County at the annual law enforcement appreciation day ceremony held later this year.
Rather than being nominated solely by their peers, the Office would like to offer the whole campus community an opportunity to nominate an officer for this honor.
