Dear Campus Community:

Since its inception, the coordination of the Sum primus ("I am first" in Latin) Exemplars Program has shifted around a couple of times.  In year one, six Exemplars joined our community and helped establish the Sum Primus Living Learning Community (SPLLC). The second year, 20 Exemplars experienced an amazing Summer First Experience led by the Center for Career and Professional Development. This year a cohort of 17 Exemplars arrived this summer and completed a summer program organized by the Office of Equity Programming (OEP). Starting this year and going forward, OEP will be overseeing all four years of the Sum primus Exemplars Program under the leadership of Program Coordinator, Grace De Oro, PhD.

We are excited and looking forward to the continued success and development of this Signature Program.

If you have any questions, concerns, or if you want to be a mentor to some of our incredible Sum primus Exemplars, please do not hesitate to contact or stop by to see Dr. De Oro in the Lucille Clifton House (near Kent Hall).
