Good afternoon aspiring teachers! In response to the changes in advising day, Educational Studies has created a series of workshops to help you understand how to become a teacher at St. Mary's, and to help you get ready to register for classes.
All workshops are listed below; you can also sign up for the google classroom for educational studies minors and special education minors, to receive announcements and updates. The course code is intikku
Wednesday, Sept 11, 11:30-12:30, LC 214: Pathways to become a teacher
This is the introduction to how to prepare for our MAT program! If you think you would like to become a teacher but don't yet know what this looks like at SMCM, this is the workshop for you.
Friday, Sept 13, 11:30-12:30, LC 214: Choosing a path and planning for it.
This is the workshop where you figure out what classes you will take each semester through graduation in order to ensure you will have all prerequisites and graduation requirements completed
Wednesday, Sept 18, 11:30-12:30, LC 214: New, streamlined MAT prerequisites
This workshop is for people who already have a graduation plan. We have just reduced the content prerequisites for the MAT, in response to changes in Maryland legislation and regulations. So you may be able to drop some classes out of your plan! Come to this workshop to figure out whether your path to graduation just got easier.

This is the practice session for the current MAT cohort, where they can get ready to defend their MRP proposals by talking about them to you all. Come to this session if you want to know what the MRP process is like.
