The following are the current Package/Mail Policies for 2024-25 for students.
Perishable Packages – Perishable packages (food, flowers) are delivered to the Package & Info Center. The student will be emailed when it arrives, and the package must be picked up within 24 hours. The Package Center does not have a large enough fridge to store perishable boxes, so the student will want to pick it up as soon as possible. If not picked up within 24 hours, flowers and time sensitive perishables will be discarded. If a student cannot pick up their perishable package, they are responsible for making arrangements for someone else (friend, roommate) to pick it up, and emailing the Package & Info Center on who that will be.
Package Room Packages – Students that receive a package in the Package Room will be emailed to pick up their package. After two weeks, if the package has not been picked up, a reminder email will be sent out. After an additional week, another email will be sent, informing the student that their package will be returned to the sender if not picked up by the designated day/time. If a student cannot pick up their package, they are responsible for making arrangements for someone else (friend, roommate) to pick it up, and emailing the Package Room on who that will be. When picking up packages, if you have received multiple emails, please let the Campus Center Assistant know that you are picking up packages from multiple days- not just the last time you were emailed. The three week package pick-up timeline does not change during breaks. Packages that do not have the name of the person who is assigned that mailbox will be returned to the sender. This does not apply towards students with a chosen name, or nickname, that they have informed the Package Center of so that we can update our Mailbox List accordingly.
Amazon packages: Amazon has informed us they will not take their packages as return to the sender, and has instructed us to either donate or discard the package items after our three week pick-up time has expired or if you accidentally send a package after you have left the college. You are to contact Amazon with questions or issues regarding this policy change of theirs.
Fed Ex packages: FedEx has informed us that they will not take packages returned to sender. If you do not pick up your package after three weeks, it will be donated or discarded.
For delivery services (Amazon, Walmart) that deliver outside the Package Center business hours, the Package Center cannot guarantee package security as the delivery service may leave in a non-secured location. Please plan accordingly when ordering. A reminder that the Package Center closes at 5pm on Fridays, and is not open Saturdays or Sundays.
***Packages containing alcohol or live animals will not be accepted and will be refused at delivery attempt.
