Developing Mass Spectrometry-based Bioanalytical Chemistry Methods to Study Neurodegenerative Diseases
Quantitative analysis of biomolecules offers a wealth of clues to understand biological processes and disease mechanisms. Liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) has become a central technology to analyze biomolecules such as proteins, peptides, lipids, and metabolites. Research in the Hao Lab is focused on developing bioanalytical methods using LC-MS platforms and applying the combination of analytical chemistry, bioinformatics, and cell biology approaches to study diseases in the human brain. Here, I will demonstrate how we developed MS-based omics strategies to identify and quantify various types of biomolecules as well as their interactions in human stem cell-derived neurons for neurodegenerative diseases.
This event is free and open to the public. It is meant for a general audience. If you are an instructor, please announce it to your students.
