Department of Performing Arts Music Program welcomes new faculty member Ellington Carthan

Please join the Performing Arts Department Music Program in welcoming Ellington Carthan, our new Instructor of Music. Ellington joins us from Howard University, where he is completing a Master’s degree in Jazz Studies. He also holds a BA from UMBC in Music Technology and Jazz Studies. At SMCM, he will be responsible for the teaching of jazz, popular music and music technology, and will be directing the college’s jazz ensemble. We are so very fortunate that Ellington is joining our campus community, and I hope you'll join us in giving him a warm and enthusiastic welcome.
