Greetings,
I am pleased to share that the Office of Admission successfully released the College's Early Action admission decisions on-line Friday afternoon. This followed the November release of Early Decision admission decisions.
Our admitted class is talented and diverse. They have a weighted grade point average of 3.96. 36% identify as male, 32% identify as BIPOC, 13% are from out of state (the largest numbers are from Washington, DC, Virginia, and Pennsylvania), and 9% are prospective student athletes.
As of 1 p.m. Saturday, 875 students had already viewed their admission decision. Online information included the offer of admission, merit scholarship information (if appropriate), and the offer of financial assistance if the student had already submitted a FAFSA. Welcome packets, including this information, for those offered admission were also stuffed...with the help of Solomon... and are in the mail. Those deferred to the regular decision pool received guidance on the additional information to submit in order to strengthen their application.
Please join me in congratulating our newest admitted Seahawks! They should be very proud of this accomplishment and we look forward to welcoming them into the St. Mary's College family.
Have a wonderful break and Go 'Hawks!
David
