ENST 385/EDUC 340 Environmental Education Principles
Foundations of environmental education for both nonformal (parks, nature centers, etc.) and formal (school) environments including what is environmental education; history of environmental education; environmental literacy; place-based education; outdoor learning. Work towards portfolio requirements for the Basic Environmental Education Certification offered by the Maryland Association for Environmental and Outdoor Education. Includes hands-on lessons with materials and guides. Though the course is an online offering, students will spend time outdoors.
