Please be aware of the following policies pertaining to packages. If you have any questions, email packageinfocenter@smcm.edu

Package Room Packages – Students that receive a package in the Package Room will be emailed to pick up their package. After two weeks, if the package has not been picked up, a reminder email will be sent out. After an additional week, another email will be sent, informing the student that their package will be returned to the sender if not picked up by the designated day/time. If a student cannot pick up their package, they are responsible for making arrangements for someone else (friend, roommate) to pick it up, and emailing the Package Room on what the alternate arrangements are. When picking up packages, if you have received multiple emails, please let the Campus Center Assistant know that you are picking up packages from multiple days- not just the last time you were emailed. The three week package pick-up timeline does not change during breaks.

Care Packages – When regular Care Packages arrive, an initial email informing the student to pick it up will be sent. Three subsequent emails will be sent weekly if the package has not been picked up. The last email will give a final notice date to pick up their Care Package. After that, the Care Package will be opened and donated to the Campus Food Pantry. For Finals Care Packages, the student will receive an initial email, then one reminder email the next week, giving a final notice date to pick up their Finals Care Packages before the Break. After that, the Finals Care Package will be opened, and donated to the Campus Food Pantry.  If a student cannot pick up their Care Package, they are responsible for making arrangements for someone else (friend, roommate) to pick it up, and emailing the Package & Info Center (packageinfocenter@smcm.edu) on what the alternate arrangements are.

Perishable Packages – Perishable packages (food, flowers) are delivered to the Package & Info Center. The student will be emailed when it arrives, and since the item is perishable, is expected to be picked up no later than three days after the arrival. A final email will be sent on the third day, notifying the student that if it is not picked up by the closing of the Package & Info Center (8pm, Mon-Thurs and 5pm on Fri-Sat), flowers and time sensitive perishables will be discarded. If a student cannot pick up their perishable package, they are responsible for making arrangements for someone else (friend, roommate) to pick it up, and emailing the Package & Info Center on what the alternate arrangements are.

***Packages containing alcohol or live animals will not be accepted
