Libby Nutt Williams, professor of psychology and director of the Master of Arts in Counseling and Clinical Psychology program at SMCM, recently attended the American Psychological Association (APA) Council of Representatives meeting in Washington, D.C. As chair of the APA Women's Caucus, she was instrumental in passing the APA Resolution to Prioritize the Elimination of Gender-Based Violence Against Women and Marginalized Populations. Williams noted that "The resolution is critical at this time, as the Violence Against Women Act is up for reauthorization in 2027. We want to be sure the psychological science on the impacts of gender-based violence is part of the conversations on the Hill."
