Nightscapes

~ Melting Sensorial Boundaries ~

Come and experience a night of music, poetry reading, and a lecture. In this interactive performance, audience members are invited to listen while activating all senses, share thoughts, and create artworks in response to the music featured in the program. This event will start at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 24, 2025, in the Recital Hall of the Nancy R. and Norton T. Dodge Performing Arts Center. 

The program will feature a lecture on synesthesia; piano music depicting various nightscapes, composed by Claude Debussy, Philip Cashian, Charles Tomlinson Griffes, Leonid Desyatnikov and Dobrinka Tabakova; along with poems written by Rainer Maria Rilke, Basho Matsuo, Charles Baudelaire and Edgar Allan Poe.
