Come hear beautiful symphonic music performed by a world-class ensemble in exquisite acoustics as the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra returns Friday, August 1st at 7 PM to southern Maryland's home for the performing arts: the Nancy R. and Norton T. Dodge Performing Arts Center.
Led by conductor Nicholas Hersh and featuring harpist Bridget Kibbey, the program includes Shostakovich’s playful Ballet Suite No. 1, Tailleferre’s sparkling Concertino for Harp, and Dvořák’s folk-infused Czech Suite. Strauss’s sweeping Emperor Waltz brings the concert to a graceful close.
For over a century, the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO) has been recognized as one of America’s leading orchestras and one of Maryland’s most significant cultural institutions. The orchestra is internationally renowned and locally admired for its performances, recordings, community and educational initiatives including OrchKids.
