Intended Audience
Hop on the College's spacious new motorcoach, the River Runner for its first shopping run this Saturday, Nov. 2. The River Runner will make two continuous loops through California beginning at 4:30 p.m. and concluding at 9:00 p.m., making two roundt trips. You must present your SMCM ID to board the River Runner.
Stops will include:
Depart from Daugherty-Palmer Commons at 4:00 pm
1st Stop: Wildewood Shopping Center (JC Penney, Belk, lots of food places)
2nd Stop: St. Mary’s Market Place (Harris-Teeter, lots of food places)
3rd Stop: First Colony Shopping Center (Target, Giant Food, CVS Pharmacy)
4th Stop: Walmart Supercenter
5th Stop: San Souci Plaza (Marshall's, Dollar Tree, JOANN Fabrics)
2nd Loop (drop-off and pickup) departs from DPC around 6:00 p.m.
3rd loop (pickup only) departs DPC around 8:00 p.m. and returns to campus approximately 9:00 p.m.
The River Runner was envisioned under The Rising Tide strategic plan and purchased with the support of the Student Government Association. A student contest was held to select the name. In addition to twice-weekly shopping runs, the River Runner will be available to transport students to and from the Washington, D.C. and Baltimore areas during major breaks.
