Betül Başaran, professor of history, is a writing fellow at the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts between April 6-20, 2026. During this artist residency, Başaran is working on a book of creative nonfiction based on her research about Princess Niloufer (1916-1989), previously funded by a Fulbright Global Scholar Award.
