Recent Graduate Receives Teaching Assistantship in Spain

Leo Montenegro '25, a recent graduate with a double major in psychology and international languages and cultures-Spanish from Washington, D.C., has been awarded a teaching assistantship through North American Language and Culture Assistants Program (NALCAP). He will spend the 2025-2026 academic year as a teaching assistant in Spain.

The flagship public diplomacy program of the Education Office of the Embassy of Spain, NALCAP has provided positions as cultural ambassadors to more than 49,000 Americans. The placements are offered across Spain in nearly every city and town, with assistants providing native-speaking English instruction and cultural exposure to Spanish school students. Teaching assistants receive a monthly stipend and medical insurance through the Spanish government.
