Professor Bailey Presents on Data Science Instruction in Psychology

Professor of Psychology Aileen Bailey, in collaboration with Associate Professor of Psychology James Mantell, recently presented on “Increase in Data Science Confidence following Enhanced Data Science Instruction in Psychology Lab Courses” and “Collaboratory Enhancing Data Science Skills in Psychology Majors” at the Annual National Institute on the Teaching of Psychology. The two presentations focused on student outcomes in data science confidence and attitudes following enrollment in psychology courses with particular focus on psychology laboratory courses with scaffolded enhanced data science instruction. Professors Bailey and Mantell were awarded an Improving Undergraduate STEM Education (IUSE) grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to support their work on infusion of advanced data science skills in psychology laboratory courses.
