Jeanette M. Warren ‘20 to sing with inaugural Boutique Broadway Symposium in New York, NY

This June, music major Jeanette Marie Warren (’20) will join seven students of the Cooper Voice Studio in midtown Manhattan for the studio’s first "Boutique Broadway Symposium."

 

Under the artistic direction of performer and educator Jennifer Cooper, founder and CEO of Go-DIVA! Productions Inc., the symposium is designed to train and empower musical theater’s “stars of tomorrow.”

 

The Boutique Broadway Symposium will be held from Sunday June 16 – Wednesday June 19 2019. It will consist of intensive workshops, interviews, and masterclasses with some of Broadway’s leading professionals.

 

Featured symposium clinicians include Amy Rogers, director and founder of the BFA Musical Theater Program at Pace University; Nancy Carrie Logan, AMDA graduate and singing waitress at Ellen’s Stardust Diner; Andrew Byrne, renowned vocal coach and founder of The Singing Athlete; and more.

 

The program will culminate with a participant showcase at the Marc Scorca Hall of The National Opera Center (330 7thAvenue) on Wednesday June 19th at 6:00 PM. This event is free and open to the public, but reservations are required.

 

Joining the symposium by invitation, Jeanette Marie Warren has been a voice student of Jennifer Cooper since 2018. She previously studied with St. Mary’s Professor of Music Larry Vote, and she performs in multiple choral ensembles at St. Mary’s College of Maryland under his direction. She is also a section leader for the Trinity Episcopal Church choir, Voices of Trinity, and will join the ensemble in performing Handel’s Messiah at Carnegie Hall later this year as part of Distinguished Concerts International.

 

Jeanette’s theatrical productions at St. Mary’s College of Maryland include Amahl and the Night Visitors, A&A Cabaret, Happy Birthday Wanda June, and Spring Awakening. In addition to theater, she has made numerous vocal appearances in the DC – MD area, both in ensembles and as a solo artist.
