Professor Adams to Speak at Salon Series

Professor of History Christine Adams provides the introduction to Madame de Maintenon and her political and cultural influence during the late reign of King Louis XIV as part of Opera Lafayette's Salon Series on September 20 in Washington, D.C.  Adams' talk, "The Secret Wife," is followed by a companion talk about the musical influences of Francois Couperin by musicologist Don Fader. Opera Lafayette's performance of "Couperin" debuts at The Kennedy Center on October 25.
