Linden McBride, assistant professor of economics, has published the policy article, "The Puzzling Persistence of Rural Poverty," in Policy in Focus, a regular publication of the International Policy Centre for Inclusive Growth. It was written in collaboration with Esteban Quiñones, University of Wisconsin–Madison.
The article discusses the puzzle of persistent rural poverty and the extent to which the theory and empirics of poverty traps can assist us in better understanding and fighting rural poverty.
