St. Mary's College of Maryland presents “Requiem” by John Rutter on Saturday, April 6 at 3 p.m. in Auerbach Auditorium of St. Mary’s Hall, 47458 Trinity Church Road. The event is free of charge and open to the public.

Under the direction of Larry E. Vote, professor of music at St. Mary’s College, “Requiem” will be performed by the St. Mary’s College Chamber Singers, The Choir of St. Francis Episcopal Church, Great Falls, Virginia; and an instrumental ensemble.

Rutter is an English composer, conductor, editor, arranger and record producer, mainly of choral music. His “Requiem” is a musical setting of parts of the Latin with added psalms and biblical verses in English, completed in 1985. It is scored for soprano, mixed choir and orchestra or chamber ensemble.
