Visiting Artist Talk:  Amelie Wang

Amelie Wang was born, China, in 1997 and has been living in the United States since 2014. She received a BA in Art and Gender Women Sexuality Study from the University of Washington in Seattle in 2021 and was the recipient of the Parnassus Graduating with Excellence Award in the Fine Art Department. In 2022, Wang was selected to participate in the Fiskars AiR Residency at Fiskars Village, Finland. In 2024, she received her MFA degree from the LeRoy E. Hoffberger School of Painting at Maryland Institute College of Art, where she also received the Hoffberger Foundation Fellowship and Graduate Merit Scholarship. Her paintings have been exhibited at the C.Grimaldis Gallery in Baltimore Maryland, Chilli Art Project in London, the Southampton History Museum in Southampton New York, and the Jacob Lawrence Gallery in Seattle Washington.  Amelie is a visiting instructor for the Art Department in Fall 2024 teaching ART 206 Introduction to Painting and ART 339 Advanced Painting and Drawing from Life.  Learn more about the artist: https://www.ameliewang10.com/
