Reimagining Liberal Arts Education on Changing Planet Panel

What role should work play in a liberal arts education? How does the work we do with our hands shape our relationships to the wider ecosystems - social, natural, educational — around us? And what might all of this have to do with sustainable food systems?! The Gull Island Institute is a place-based liberal arts Institute located on Cape Cod that centers these questions at the heart of its undergraduate programs, which are based in a pedagogy of three “pillars” of academics, physical labor, and student self-governance.
