Intended Audience
The Center for the Study of Democracy is cosponsoring the local competition of the National Civics Bee with the St. Mary's County Chamber of Commerce.
The National Civics Bee competition is a first-of-its-kind civics competition that encourages young Americans to engage in civics and contribute to their communities. Participating 6th, 7th and 8th graders will flex their civics knowledge for a chance to win recognition and cash prizes. Finalists will be invited to Washington, D.C. to compete in the inaugural National Civics Bee national championship in fall 2024.
The competition will take place on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 10 a.m. in Cole Cinema of the Campus Center at St. Mary's College of Maryland.
