Visibility of Disability: Exploring the Intersectionality of Disability, Race and Gender | "Reproductive Care and Disability"
Angelica Vega (She/Her/Hers) is an Afro-Latina with multiple disabilities, who graduated in the Spring of 2020 from American University in Washington, DC, where she earned both department and Latin honors in Philosophy. Angelica is a passionate disability advocate who served as a 2021-2022 Law Fellow of The Coelho Center for Disability Law, Policy, and Innovation at Loyola Law School, during which she was given the opportunity to go to the White House to speak about her experiences with reproductive care. She has continued her work with The Coelho Center as Chair of its Advisory Committee on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Access, a committee which she proposed and co-created. She is also currently serving as an Advisory Council Member at CommunicationFIRST, a nonprofit organization that protects the rights of people with speech-related disabilities. Her long-term goal is to attend law school and run for public office in her home state of New Jersey.
