Biography

Silvio Borrero is the Chair of the Department of Economics and Business and the Inaugural William Seale Professor of Business at St. Mary’s College of Maryland. His teaching and research interests include strategy, organizational behavior, and business education. He earned his PhD and a Master’s in Management from Tulane University’s A.B. Freeman School of Business, an MBA from Universidad Icesi, and a BSc in Industrial Engineering from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. Prior to joining SMCM, Professor Borrero was a full-time faculty member and academic administrator in leading business schools in Colombia. His academic career leverages on his previous management and entrepreneurial experience in manufacturing, engineering, consulting, retail, and service firms.
